NOMINATION PAPERS

Overview of the candidate filing process:

  • Complete and submit application
  • Receive nomination paper and collect signatures
  • Submit statement and photo for the Digital Voter Guide
  • File nomination paper and submit filing fee



 The County Clerk's Office accepts filings for County, State, and Federal contests, except filings for President must be made with the State Office of Elections.

Qualifications

Available Feb. 1, 2024       

To use the system, candidates will need:

  • Hawaii Driver’s License or Hawaii State ID card
  • Social Security Number
  • Printer
  • White 8-1/2” x 11” paper


NOTE: 

Candidates must submit completed nomination papers to the County Clerk's Office no later than 

June 4, 2024, 

at 4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

  Maui County Council

  • Term: 2 years (January 2025-2027)
  • Qualifications:
    • Qualified voter of Maui County
    • Resident in the area of Maui County from which the person seeks to be elected for a period of 1 year before filing

Candidate Reports

 Candidate filing for the 2024 Elections begins February 1, 2024, and ends June 4, 2024, at 4:30p.m. 

Doors are locked at 4:30 p.m. 


A Candidate Report will be available for viewing starting February 1, 2024. The candidate report contains a list of candidates who have filed 

nomination papers. 

The report is updated Monday – Friday

 (excluding state holidays, after 4:30 p.m.) 

Financial Disclosure Statement

Candidates running for Maui County Council are also required to file a Financial Disclosure Statement with their nomination papers.  Copies of statements may be viewed using the link below.
